My Story

Hi, I'm Zurina.

And I'm here to make your intentions shine. 

It all started with a ruby ring.

Passion. Vitality. Strength. Confidence.

These are just a few words to describe the gem that inspired my journey.

The ring was huge. Vibrant and pink, set in the brightest gold. It looked like it was straight out of a Malaysian fairy tale. 

It was also powerful. This family heirloom connected me to a home and heritage I didn't even know yet.  

It was the most mesmerizing piece in my mother's collection - and my favorite. I would sneak into her closet play dress up and stare at all the colorful gemstones and bright gold for hours. 

While I didn't have the best relationship with my mother growing up, we always agreed on one thing: I would inherit this collection one day.

Things were so volatile, it became something meaningful for me to hold onto.

But that day never came - everything was stolen when I was a teenager. All the treasures that connected me to my family's history and my inheritance were just... Gone. 

I may have lost the heirlooms - but I inherited something I now know to be much more valuable. 

Their energy. 

It was the catalyst for my journey and inspired me to help others speak intentions through stones.

So that's what I do. 

My Ethos

Along with their energy, my jewelry is shaped by my life experience and personal ethos. 

I grew up around mountains, forests, and deserts. My parents were strong environmentalists and taught me about ecology and conservation from an early age. It's always been an important part of my daily life and my work. 

My life has brought me all over the world - from the vast deserts of the American Southwest and Southern Africa to the lush forests of the Pacific Northwest and the faraway jungles of Malaysia. 

Each new adventure has given me a deeper respect for the planet and everything on it.

I've witnessed the critical impact that mining and deforestation have on those landscapes that I know and love, and am mindful to create my work in the most responsible ways possible.

After losing my family's heirloom collection all those years ago, I sought to create high-quality, affordable jewelry using 14K gold fill and sterling silver.

Every piece is designed and handcrafted in my bright and airy Berlin studio, using an ever-increasing array of sustainably sourced gemstones, 14K gold fill made from ethically sourced gold, recycled sterling silver, and eco-friendly leathers. 

All designs are made with the following in mind:

• simple and timeless designs
• quality materials that last with proper care
• small collections to help reduce waste
• repair and cleaning services to extend each piece’s life (offered on mine and other products)
• recycling precious metal scrap
• reusable, recycled, fair trade, and sustainable packaging
• upcycled DIY jewelry kits
• upcycling and repair workshops
• annual improvements
