A Proper Goodbye - to the Online Jewelry Shop

A Proper Goodbye - to the Online Jewelry Shop

It's Time

After twenty-one years of selling jewelry online, I’ve decided to STOP after 20 September 2026.

The Universe has been leading me here for a while, and the EU has convinced me that NOW is the right time.

It was the wildest of rides, so you might wanna buckle TF up.

Here’s a look back - and what’s coming next.

After Twenty-One Years Online, What was Missing?

I’ve had a jewelry website since 2005 - this is me at my very first market when I was living in LA!

I remember being so nervous, but it went so much better than I anticipated.

Over the years, I’ve grown to prefer doing markets and meeting people in person.

It was clear decades before I began to understand how to read energy. There's simply no way to make the same connection online as you can in person.

Things Were Great, Until They Weren't

I’ve moved all over the US since then, and in 2018 I moved to Germany. Of course, my business came with me.

Things were going pretty well - but things started to go a little sideways in early 2020.

(Like they did for all of us.)

I developed chronic tendonitis in my dominant hand, and had to stop working for a while.

Things picked back up by 2021.

The first half of the year was amazing!

The second half - not so much.

A Lot of Loss, and Then Some More...

I lost both my parents, along with my grandma, and other important family members before the end of the year.

It was a devastating amount of loss to happen in a matter of months.

I took a lot of time off work, and for a while I was worried I might not come back at all. I'd never been close to anyone who died before this, and the pain was further compounded by a few in-laws who remain pathologically dismissive of the experience to this day.

While everyone else in my life chose to lead with kindness and support, they did not. Even as my dad was in hospice, they were demanding so much more than my husband and I could give. They could not seem to grasp the damage their behavior and expectations were causing.

Over the years, it morphed into total denial and avoidance that anything was amiss. Systematically denying that their behavior could be detrimental to such profound loss over an extended period of time obviously made things much worse. I developed cPTSD (complex post-traumatic stress disorder) as a result.

Not fun. Do not recommend. ZERO fucking stars.

But I do know one thing.

I've healed enough in my life to know that you cannot depend on the people who hurt you to heal you.

The best you can do is let them go and commit to healing yourself.

So that's what I did.

When Energy Calls, Learn to Listen

Dealing with something like cPTSD is rough, and getting back to "normal" feels impossible.

Especially with work - there were so many starts and stops.

At the same time, a lot of really bizarre things were happening that were strangely comforting and expansive. Moments of deep grief were met with moments of profound connection. There was a lightness to it all that took me out of the darkest moments of my life. It helped me find a sense of peace in all the chaos.

I’d never even heard of anything like this and couldn’t explain a damn thing.

The only common thread with everything seemed to be energy. In early 2025, I decided to follow this new path wherever it led.

I became a certified Reiki practitioner and completed a nine-month apprenticeship in Earth-based energy work. It helped me make a rather stunning recovery from four years of cPTSD and chronic tendonitis.

I did eventually get back to work. The pace wasn't the same as before, but I was overjoyed with how things were coming together. It reminded me how much I love making things with my hands.

Things were finally beginning to feel normal again for the first time after so many years of chaos.

Then the Universe started rumbling - it started with the rising cost of gold. And it just kept going up, up, and away. In two decades of having a business, I've only had to raise prices once every five years or so.

Now all of a sudden, I had to raise prices twice in a year.

Then I had to pause shipping to the States due to their ongoing and totally unhinged political turmoil.

I Can Survive A LOT... but Not This

And now, the EU has decided to make it impossible for a micro business like mine to exist online and sell to the EU.

New packaging regulations go into effect on August 12th, 2026, that are so heavy with upfront costs and logistics that I can’t continue shipping within the EU at all.

I had planned to continue carrying both my jewelry online and offer my Reiki and other services, but this changed everything.

What's more, this affects every micro-business in the EU. But TEMU, Shein, or Amazon? They're fine. It’s ridiculous, and so poorly thought out. It seems they completely forgot that small creators existed - or mattered at all.

I could keep selling online in Germany, but the Universe has been working on other plans for me.

The online jewelry shop will be closing for good on September 20th, 2026.

The site will still exist and will feature my Reiki and energy work offerings exclusively.

With that said, I am a creator at heart.

Always have been, always will be.

Making things with my hands makes my life better in the best way, and my jewelry will remain available locally in Berlin at markets, pop-ups, and events in the studio. You can expect to see these events in stories on my social media.

And with that...
